New Clinician/Researcher To
Join Myeloma Institute
Dr. Yazan M. Alsayed will join the Myeloma Institute as an assistant professor this summer. Alsayed is currently completing a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his internal medicine residency at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Prior to residency, Alsayed performed three postdoctoral research fellowships, two in the Section of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the third in the Department of Pediatrics at Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University School in Chicago. Before moving to the United States, Alsayed did three years of internal medicine residency in Saudi Arabia, where he was also a practicing physician. He earned his medical degree from Aleppo University School of Medicine in Syria. Alsayed was awarded a research grant from the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in 2005. He maintains professional affiliations with the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American College of Physicians.
