Current Research

Dr. Buros is developing statistical methods relevant to the advancement of therapy for the treatment and understanding of myeloma. They include: (1) statistical methods in clinical trials, specifically adaptive design Bayesian methods in clinical trials; (2) survival analysis of myeloma data, currently the analysis of PET scan focal lesions and flow cytometric analysis of kappa and lambda light chains; (3) genome wide association analysis; and (4) statistical analysis of bone disease in myeloma, specifically the presence of hypercalcemia in myeloma and the statistical significance of genes related to bone formation.
