The Myeloma Institute treats more multiple myeloma patients than any other cancer center in the world. A large percentage of our patient base comes from outside of Arkansas (see the map below). An estimated 450 new patients are evaluated at the Myeloma Institute each year; we are treating/following more than 2,400 patients at any given time. We do more peripheral blood stem cell transplants for myeloma than any other facility in the country. With a disease as complex as multiple myeloma, the experience gained from a large volume of patients is a distinct advantage.
Our staff, focused on the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma, is thoroughly familiar with all treatment processes and the sequence of treatments, and is adept at anticipating potential complications and addressing patient/family needs. Patients requiring hospitalization are admitted to a special inpatient unit.
