James C. Yuen, M.D., is Professor and Chief in the Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). Dr. Yuen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1985. He served a residency in general surgery at West Virginia University Hospital and plastic surgery at Duke University Medical Center, which included fellowship training at the Christine M. Kleinart Institute of hand and microsurgery in Louisville, KY. Dr. Yuen is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Yuen specializes in microvascular reconstructive surgery and hand surgery and has expertise in breast, chest wall, head and neck, and upper and lower extremities soft tissue reconstruction and in the management of complex wounds. Dr. Yuen is also the Division Chief of Plastic Surgery at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital and the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
