Marla L Wirges, M.D.

Dr. Marla Wirges is a staff physician and Assistant Professor of Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and serves as the department's Director of Medical Student Education.

Graduating Cum Laude, Dr. Wirges received her Bachelor's of Science degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.  She obtained her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine.  Dr. Wirges went on to complete an internship in General Surgery and a dermatology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.  She is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.  Dr. Wirges is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery.  She is a member of the American Medical Association and the United States Medical Licensing Examinations Step I, II and III.

Dr. Wirges is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Barton Scholarship recipient for 1999, 2000, and 2001, the Buchanan Key Award and Scholarship in 2001, and the Edwin G. Gray Scholarship in 2001.  In her free time, Dr. Wirges enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, playing golf, and volunteering with the American Red Cross.
